Julia Goerges of Germany has upset top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki, 7-6 (3), 6-3, in the finals of the Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany. With the win, Georges becomes the first German to win the Porsche Grand Prix since Anke Huber took home the crown in 1996 and jumps to number 27 in the WTA rankings.

“Julia played very well and very aggressive," said Wozniacki. "I wasn’t good enough today.”

By breaking into the top 30, Goerges gave Germany two players ranked that high for the first time since August of 1999. The other is Andrea Petkovic, who will be ranked number 15 when the new rankings come out next week.
