Since a 4-3 loss to Port Washington in mid-September, the Manhasset Indians have looked like one of the teams to beat in Nassau County. The Indians notched a huge 4-3 win over Roslyn last Friday to distance itself in the Conference I standings, and traveled to Oceanside on Tuesday in search of its ninth consecutive win.

Manhasset got contributions from all over. Its first doubles tandem of Courtney Connors & Lia Frankis notched a 6-3, 6-2 win over Oceanside’s Kaitlin Schwarz & Sam Bloeclar, while Maddie Clinton cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win over Jessica Schwarz at third singles. The win moves Manhasset to 12-1 on the year with one regular season match left. Oceanside drops to 1-12.

If Manhasset is one of the teams to beat in Nassau, then Great Neck South may be the other. The Rebels won yet again on Tuesday, rolling past Herricks 5-2 to improve to 13-0. One of the matches of the day came at third doubles, where Lily Kimmel & Pakrer Spector pulled out a 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 victory to pace Great Neck South. The Rebels now have one match remaining, versus Wheatley, as it seeks a perfect regular season. Herricks falls to 4-7.
