Great Neck North Keeps Rolling on to Third Win

The Blazers of Great Neck North won its third straight match to open up the 2015 girl’s high school season on Wednesday, moving past Glen Cove 6-1 in a Conference II-A showdown.

Great Neck North was led by its doubles tandems, who won all four of the respective doubles matches, anchored by a 6-4, 6-3 win by Julia Kosinski & Shoshanna Tokar at first doubles.

The matches in Conference I continued to be played close on Wednesday, as Jericho and Syosset both pulled out 4-3 victories.

The Braves of Syosset edged Great Neck South 4-3. Senior Joey Baranowski paired up with sophomore Jessie Levy to come back from a set down and beat Parker Spector-Solwan & Amanda Cohn 6-7, 6-1, 6-1.

Jericho got past Roslyn 4-3, thanks to a win at fourth doubles by sisters Lauren & Nicole Javaheri over Tess Dicker & Jill Pion.
