Hills East Downs Ward Melville in Non-League Action

The Thunderbirds of Half Hollow Hills East improved to 3-0 on the season on Thursday as it defeated Ward Melville 6-1 in a non-league contest.

Hills East was led by Brian Rhee, who outlasted the Patriots’ Matt Roberts 7-6(4), 5-7, 6-0 to anchor the singles play.

The Thunderbirds have now won 20 of the 21 flights played this season. It will try and carry that momentum into a road matchup with cross-town rival Half Hollow Hills West.

Hills West moved to 4-0 on Thursday, defeating Whitman for its fourth straight 7-0 victory.
