France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga injured his finger during his third round 7-6 (3), 3-6, 7-6 (5) loss to Ivan Dodig at the Queen’s Club on Thursday, jeopardizing his chances of playing in Wimbledon which is just 10 days away. Last year, Tsonga lost to Andy Murray at Queen’s Club in the finals and later upset Roger Federer in the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
"I felt like I broke something or I strained it when I fell," said Tsonga. "It’s only a finger, but it’s tough because I have to play with my hand. At the moment I don’t know what is it, but I will stay positive and I will see."
Dodig will advance to play Sam Querry next. Querry defeated eighth seed Julien Benneteau of France, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, to reach his second final at Queen’s Club. Querrey was champion in 2010 when he beat fellow American Mardy Fish. To advance to this year’s final, Querry had a break lead 5-3 in the final set and served out the match to love.
