Ana Ivanovic will face Venus WIlliams for the 2014 ASB Classic title in Auckland, New Zealand, as the top two seeds have advanced to the finals. Venus advanced in easy fashion, a walkover victory against the number five seed, American Jamie Hampton, who was forced out of the event with a hip injury.
Ivanovic was a 6-0, 7-6(3) winner over the number three seed, Kirsten Flipkens. "The first set was really almost without mistakes—I served well, hit the ball well and played very aggressive too," Ivanovic said. "The second set I felt was good for me too, but she started to serve better and put a lot more pressure on me, but I managed to serve well too and played well at the end. I expected a tough match today and it turned out to be a really tough second set."
Venus has dominated Ivanovic in their head-to-head series, leading 8-1.
"We've had some tough matches in the past, and I'm really looking forward to that final challenge," said Ivanovic.
