American Madison Keys announced via Twitter on Wednesday that she is withdrawing from the Coupe Banque Nationale tournament in Quebec with a wrist injury.

Keys, who was the tournament’s top seed, said she hurt the wrist in practice and was hoping to play despite the injury, but was just unable to get healthy enough.

“I am really disappointed I have to withdraw from the Coupe Banque Nationale,” Keys said on Twitter. “I hurt my wrist in practice in the last few days and unfortunately am unable to compete.  I was looking forward to playing for the Quebec City fans and hope to come back next year.”

Keys recently reached the Round of 16 at the U.S. Open, before falling to world number one Serena Williams.
