Long Island High School Recap: April 24

Hicksville improved to 4-3 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Clarke on Monday afternoon.

Hicksville was led by its singles play as it took two of the three flights. Ayush Jha won 6-3, 6-2 over Henry Qi 6-3, 6-2 at first singles, while Navneet Lingala notched a 6-4, 7-6(5) victory over David Kryzhanovsky at third singles.

Hickvsille’s Amith Anugu and Adam Sanfilippo helped lead Hicksville with a win at fourth doubles on Monday.

Syosset improved to 8-0 on the season and extended its winning streak to 60 matches with a 5-2 win over Jericho. Preet Rajpal, last year’s Nassau County Doubles Champion, clinched the Braves’ victory with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jericho’s Oliver Liu at third singles.

Jericho came up short against Syosset on Monday. 

Roslyn kept pace in the Nassau I standings with a 4-3 win against Great Neck North in a tightly-contested matchup to improve to 7-1 on the season. The Bulldogs’ top two singles players helped lead the way on Monday, as Zach Khazzam won 7-6(6), 6-2 over Joshua Rothbaum at first singles and Mikey Weitz won 6-0, 6-1 over Damien Chafe at second singles.

The fourth doubles tandem of Sam Schneider and Jack Warren led Cold Spring Harbor to a 6-1 victory over Manhasset. The pair came back to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 over Quinn Reinhardt and Joe Zand to anchor the Cold Spring Harbor win.
