Long Islanders To Be Honored at 2024 USTA Eastern Tennis Conference
The 2024 USTA Eastern Tennis Conference is set for Saturday, January 27 in Tarrytown, and will feature the USTA Eastern Awards Dinner. Below are the winners from Long Island who will be honored at the dinner:

Profiles in Courage Award: Roslyn High School Boys’ Tennis Team
Awarded to a tennis enthusiast or advocate who has demonstrated the ability to overcome adversity and display strength and optimism.
Special Service Award:Â Michelle Stoerback
Awarded to a person who has made a special contribution to tennis in the section. This award is for accomplishments not covered by other award categories.
Service To People with Disabilities Award:Â Juan Pablo Perez
This award is to recognize outstanding people dedicated to working with special populations through tennis or to give special recognition to a disabled player.
10 and Under Award:Â Sharon Rappaport
Awarded to a person or organization who has done an outstanding job promoting 10 and Under Tennis in the section. This includes consistently offering 10 and Under Tennis programming using red, orange and green tennis during Play Days, Play Events, 10 and Under tournaments and/or 10 and Under Junior Team Tennis.
George Seewagan Award:Â Steve Kaplan
Awarded to a USTA Eastern teaching professional who exemplifies excellence in competition, sportsmanship and love of the game.
Lifetime Achievement Award:Â Lawrence Kleger
Awarded to a volunteer in recognition of years of dedicated service, while promoting and developing tennis in the community. This individual has made a great impact on spreading their passion of tennis, while touching the lives of many.
