Mardy Fish defeated Jurgen Melzer of Austria, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, to advance to the finals of the Kooyong Invitational tournament against Australian teenager Bernard Tomic.  He has two wins at this exhibition tournament that is the normal warm-up event leading into the Australian Open.

Tomic, a Wimbledon quarterfinalist, took down Gael Monfils to advance onto the finals. Andy Murray had a 6-3, 7-6 win against David Nalbandian in a match that was not officially a tournament match.

Murray, who won the Brisbane International, has lost in the past two Australian Open finals.
