Merrick Native Lipsky and Partner Ram Move on to SA Tennis Open Semis

Merrick, N.Y. native Scott Lipsky and his doubles partner Rajeev Ram have advanced to the semifinals of the SA Tennis Open 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa, defeating the hometown South African duo of Rik de Voest & Izak Van Der Merwe, 7-6(5), 6-3. Lipsky & Ram move on to the semis to face the British-Austrian doubles team of Jamie Murray & Alexander Peya, who advanced with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Yen-Hsun Lu & Janko Tipsarevic.
Lipsky & Ram, who won the Atlanta Tennis Championships doubles title with a win over Sanchai Ratiwatana & Sonchat Ratiwatana last July, defeated the same pairing of Ratiwatana & Ratiwatana in the first round of the SA Tennis Open 2011, 6-1, 3-6, 10-8.
