A Message From the USTA Long Island Region

Do you play tennis in your community or county park? Are the courts you play on in great shape?

If not, LET US KNOW !!!!!!!!!

We have just formed a committee to look at the public courts in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Some of us have seen courts that were in great need of repair.

It is our belief that the people responsible for these courts are unaware of their condition. Or maybe they think we don’t care. We are in the process of gathering information about the condition of the courts that the many tennis players of Long Island are playing on. Long Island, as you know, is quite large and to cover all the courts, we would appreciate your input.

Can you help us?

My name is Sunny Fishkind and presently I am chairing this committee for the USTA Long Island Region. I and my committee (you may join if you wish), would love your help.

We would like to know about the public courts that you play on.

If they are great, let us know. And if they need work, let us know.

We would greatly appreciate any information you can get to us, such as:

Where the courts are located.

What is needed to improve their condition.

How many courts are at the location and are they all in the same condition.

We would love to have pictures to show what you might be referring to.

Please pass this information onto other tennis players you know. You can contact me at sunnyfish10@gmail.com.
