Wimbledon champ Andy Murray won his second round match easily at the 2013 Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati by beating Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 6-3. Murray’s aggressive return game allowed him to take control over Youznhy’s service games by earning seven break points against him and converting on five of them.

This is the fourth match up between the two, with Murray winning all four. Their last match up came during this year’s Wimbledon, on Murray’s path to his first Wimbledon victory. Youznhy’s inconsistent serve and seven double faults didn’t help him in the match today.

Murray has won the Western & Southern Open in 2008 and 2011, and he needed just over an hour today to beat Youzhny. Murray lost in the 3rd round at the Rogers Cup, which was his first tournament back after being the first British man since 1936 to win Wimbledon.

“I’ve always been a massive fan of this tournament. I’ve won it twice, and it’s always nice coming back to the heat of Cincinnati," said Murray. "Because it’s the final Masters 1000 before the U.S. Open it acts as a great warm up tournament, so hopefully I can be playing my best tennis by the time I get to Flushing Meadows."

Murray’s next opponent will be Julien Benneteau of France, who beat Radek Stepanek 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(4).
