Nadal Gives Spain 1-0 Davis Cup Lead Over Argentina

Rafael Nadal has given Spain a 1-0 lead over Argentina at the Davis Cup after defeating Juan Monaco 6-1, 6-1, 6-2. Nadal played on his prime surface of clay at the Olympic Stadium breaking Monaco seven times.
"The best part of my game was I didn’t make mistakes," said Nadal. "The most important thing is we’re up 1-0. We’re confident David can make it 2-0."
The match was played in front of a crowd of 27,000 spectators, King Juan Carlos among them, where Nadal played nothing like the one who struggled through the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
"I was a little nervous at the start, but after I broke him, I started playing well," said Nadal. He also added 26 winners to this selection, keeping his opponent off balance and easily clinching the first set. Spain is yet to drop a tie on clay out of the last 22. Argentina is now attempting to win its first Davis Cup trophy in its fourth final.
