The new WTA rankings came out on Monday and, as has been the case, Serena Williams remained atop the Women’s Singles chart at number one. This will be the 210th week the American has been number one in the world, surpassing Martina Hingis’ for the fourth-most all time.
Serena has spent 87 consecutive weeks at number one, the longest streak of her career. She has reached the 210 mark in six different intervals, with the first existing from July 8, 2002 to August 10, 2003.
She has been number one in the world since February 18, 2003. The American now only trails legends Steffi Graff (377), Martina Navratilova (332) and Chris Evert (260).
Williams won the 18th Grand Slam of her career at the US Open and will be the top-seed at the WTA Finals later this month.
