Soderling Defeats Roddick in Finals of the 2011 Brisbane International

Robin Soderling defeated Andy Roddick, 6-3, 7-5 to capture the Men’s Singles Title at the 2011 Brisbane International Tennis Tournament in Australia at the Pat Rafter Arena. Torrential rain briefly interrupted the match as the semi-indoor Pat Rafter Arena had rain blow inside as the match was knotted up at four in the second set.
"He had a great week, played well today and served well too,” Roddick said about Soderling in his post-match press conference. "Every time I had a look in, he came up with one of those big serves. I’m usually on this side, but today I was on the other side.”
In the women’s final of the 2011 Brisbane International Tennis Tournament, Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic defeated German Andrea Petkovic of Germany, 6-1, 6-3.
