The stars of the tennis world were out in full force as Stars of the Open presented by Chase hit the court inside Arthur Ashe Stadium, featuring 16 of the best tennis players, both past and present.

The evening was filled with unbelievable shots and uncontained laughter as doubles pairings competed in 10-point tiebreaks with the players mic’d up to showcase their personalities.

In the first match of the evening, the Italian duo of Matteo Berrettini and Jasmine Paolini defeated Iga Swiatek and Sebastian Korda, which was soon followed by the Argentine pairing of Gabriela Sabatini and Juan Martin del Potro knocking out Caroline Wozniacki and Andy Roddick.

Afterwards, 2022 US Open semifinalist Frances Tiafoe and 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens beat 2024 Wimbledon doubles champion Taylor Townsend and actor Boris Kodjoe, who played college tennis at VCU.

The highlight of the night may have come when John McEnroe and Novak Djokovic took on Carlos Alcaraz and Andre Agassi, with the court hosting four players with a combined 43 Grand Slam singles titles. Djokovic and McEnroe would win the match, but Alcaraz could not have been happier with the opportunity.

“For me it’s a privilege to play this match, obviously I’m not used to seeing [Agassi and McEnroe] around so I’m a lucky guy, trying to learn from the legends,” Alcaraz said. “I try to enjoy every moment, that is why I have a smile from ear to ear.”

A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to the USTA Foundation, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024, and provides tennis and educational opportunities to children through the NJTL network.
