Tiffany Thornton of the Disney Channel series, "Sonny with a Chance," will be singing on Sunday, May 15 at TennisFest 2011, a free day of tennis activities for players of all ages and abilities at the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco, N.Y. from 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Thornton is the newest star to plan on attending the free day-long event, which will include tennis coaching legend Nick Bollettieri, free instruction by certified teaching pros, a fast serve contest, Cardio Tennis, face painting, Pilates, tournaments and exhibitions.

The event will also feature USTA 10-and-Under Tennis, which uses age-appropriate courts and equipment to introduce kids to the game. The event is being organized by the United States Professional Tennis Association – Eastern Division, and is part of the association’s "Tennis – for the health of it!" initiative, which promotes the sport as a great way to stay in shape.

“We are excited that Tiffany will be lending her talents to TennisFest,” said Bill Mecca, Executive Director of the USPTA-Eastern Division. “It’s going to be a great day for families to learn about all the ways they can enjoy the sport: from private lessons and clinics, to special play formats geared to children and physical fitness.”

The USPTA, the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), the USTA and USTA Eastern have planned a menu of activities for the whole family at the event. In addition to Bollettieri, USPTA Hall of Famer Bill Tym and two other USPTA Master Professionals will be teaching at the event.

Jenny Schnitzer, managing director of Competitive Tennis for USTA Eastern, said the event will highlight all that tennis has to offer, and allow parents and kids to find a program that meets their needs.

“The path to developing as a tennis player begins with a certified instructor and a great program,” said Schnitzer. “And TennisFest is a perfect way for parents to learn about what opportunities are available for their families to enjoy the sport.”
