Tennis is a sport for a lifetime, and USTA Eastern strives to grow tennis at every level with a goal of making the game accessible to everyone. Tennis can be adapted to fit the needs of the player. Shorter courts can be used to teach small children the basics; slower, low compression balls allow those with mobility challenges to get back in the game; and the two bounce rule for wheelchair players let’s those serious athletes compete at all levels including international and Grand Slam tournaments. USTA Eastern supports people with special needs or circumstances through its recreational adaptive tennis programs and competitive wheelchair players through USTA Wheelchair Tennis.

USTA Eastern is pleased to invite you to the 10th Annual Jana Hunsaker Memorial Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, Thursday-Sunday, June 10-13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, N.Y. This ITF Series 3 Tournament is open to all divisions with $10,000 in Prize Money. This year we will also be hosting a Kids Clinic and Wheelchair Tennis Demonstration for local wheelchair athletes interested in Wheelchair Tennis. As an added bonus, anyone registering to play by Monday, April 20 will be eligible for tickets to a Broadway show or Yankees tickets at the new Yankee Stadium.

Come play or volunteer. We look forward to seeing everyone this summer in New York City for the 10th Annual!

Registration deadline is Monday May 10, 2010, so don’t delay!
