The USTA and CBS have reached an agreement that will keep the broadcast of the U.S. Open on CBS through 2014. The three-year extension keeps the Grand Slam event on CBS, a network that the event has called home since 1968.

As reported on the New York Times Web site, the current deal, which was set to expire after the upcoming 2011 U.S. Open, will pay the USTA in the $20 million and $25 million range annually. The new deal will keep the current schedule, including the Saturday night prime-time women’s final and a Sunday afternoon men’s singles final. CBS will continue to broadcast two U.S. Open Series events leading up to the U.S. Open, set this year for Aug. 29-Sept. 11 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
