USTA Long Island Announces Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario as Awards Dinner Guest Speaker

The 2019 USTA Long Island Region Awards Dinner is set for Thursday, May 2 at Chateau Briand Caterers in Carle Place, N.Y, and it has announced that Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario will be the featured guest speaker.

Sanchez-Vicario had a decorated playing career which resulted in her being inducted to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2007. In her playing career, she won 14 Grand Slam singles titles and was a 17-time finalist, winning 102 career titles overall and achieving the world number one ranking in 1995.

She won several Olympic medals, including the Silver medal in Women’s Doubles and Bronze medal in Women’s Singles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, and Silver medal in Women’s Singles and Bronze medal in Women’s Doubles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
