Weekend High School Recap: Roslyn Notches Two Weekend Victories

The Roslyn Bulldogs notched two conference victories over the weekend to improve its overall record to 5-1 on the season.
On Friday, Roslyn hosted Jericho and defeated the Jayhawks 6-1. The Bulldogs notched four wins in the four doubles matches, with the tightest one coming at first doubles.
Eric Irom & Jeremy Kaplan defeated Mitchell Leighton & Josh Simoncic 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 in a three-set affair at first doubles. It was a huge win for Roslyn, as it had dropped the first singles point.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs continued its winning ways with a 6-1 victory over Garden City.
Also in Conference I over the weekend, the Syosset Braves improved to 8-0 on the season, knocking off Friends Academy 7-0. First singles player Daniel Shleimovich led the way with a 6-1, 6-1 over Ian Friedman.
Great Neck South and Great Neck North each notched wins on Friday afternoon in Conference I.
Great Neck South edged Plainview JFK 4-3 behind the strong 7-6(7-5), 6-2 by Landon Phillips at second singles, while Great Neck North got past Manhasset 4-3 thanks to Josh Moinian & Daniel Torkan, who won 6-2 6-0 in the deciding fourth doubles match.
The Massapequa Chiefs won twice over the weekend to improve to 8-0 on the season. First on Friday, the Chiefs defeated Lynbrook 6-1. It followed that win up by beating Valley Stream Central 6-1 on Saturday. The first doubles tandem of Jeremy Wiss and Frank Slator led the way with a 6-3, 6-3 win.
Also in Conference II, Oceanside won its fourth straight match, moving past Bellmore JFK 4-3. The Sailors victory was keyed by the third doubles team of Brandon Champagne & Jason Zagorski, who won 7-6(2), 6-2.
Plainedge won for the third time in its last four contests, beating New Hyde Park 5-2 in a Conference III-B showdown. Dylan Pagan & Kyle Oleksak beat Rai Takahashi & Eshraq Islam 6-2, 6-4 to help pace the Red Devils.
