Wimbledon 2012 Update: Radwanska Set for Showdown With Serena for Women’s Title

The third-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland reached her first ever Grand Slam women’s singles finals on Thursday after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Germany’s Angelique Kerber in the semifinals of Wimbledon 2012. Radwanska will face American Serena Williams in Saturday’s finals. Radwanska is the first Polish woman to reach a major final since 1939, when Jadwiga Jedrzejowska lost in the French Championships.
"This is a dream from when I was kid," said Radwanska. "Everybody wants to play the final of a Grand Slam. These are the best two weeks of my career."
Kerber finished with 26 winners, six more than Radwanska, but had 14 unforced errors. Kerber was playing her second Grand Slam semifinal, having reached the semis of the 2011 U.S. Open where she fell to Sam Stosur in three sets.
