Caroline Woznacki advanced to the semifinals of the 2011 Australian Open with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 over 2010 French Open Champion Francesca Schiavione at Melbourne Park. The top-seeded Wozniacki will face China’s Li Na in the semifinals. Na moved onto the semis after beating Andrea Petkovic of Germany. 6-2, 6-4.

Wozniacki rallied from a set and a break down to beat Schiavone and ensure she would maintain the number one WTA ranking after this tournament.

"She started off really, really well and I didn’t feel like I had the right timing," Wozniacki said. "So it was difficult for me in the beginning, but I fought back and I’m so happy that I’m standing here as the winner."

On the men’s side, Roger Federer advanced to the semis with a 6-1, 6-3, 6-3 win over his fellow countryman, Stanislas Wawrinka. Federer will face Novak Djokovic in the semifinals after Djokovic disposed of Tomas Berdych 6-1, 7-6 (5), 6-1 in at Rod Laver Arena.

"If I continue playing like this, I think I have a good chance," Djokovic said. "But in the next match I have Federer. We all know he is the best player ever, so we all know it is going to be tough."
