Top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark defeated Marion Bartoli from France, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, to win the 2011 BNP Paribas Open Women’s Title. Wozniacki took home a $700,000 prize and will maintain her number one WTA ranking. With her appearance in the finals, Bartoli is projected to jump to number 10 in the WTA rankings, her first time back in the top 10 since June 2008.

“I can keep playing out there for hours and hours,” Wozniacki said. “It’s definitely a good sign for me when I can see the opponent getting a little bit more tired. We had a lot of long rallies, but I felt like I recovered maybe a little bit faster than she did. That’s a good feeling to have on my side.”

Wozniacki now travels to Miami to play in the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open.
